Where Self-Development, Community, and Well-Being Intersect
A no-cost, community-based accountability group
Our purpose is to make accountability accessible and engage in critical discussions about success and self-development.
Redefining “the second place”
In sociology, the concept of the “third place” often represents establishments that promote connections and community, like cafés, theaters, libraries, bars, or places of worship.
The “first place” typically refers to where people reside, their homes, while the “second place” signifies the workplace.
Our initiative aims to redefine the concept of ‘work’ by creating a space that merges work, community, and, for some, a sense of home.
“The Second Place has provided a judgement-free venue for me to break down big goals into achievable components, get advice on how to approach different obstacles presented by a project, and stay accountable to my work.”

Meet Our Community Partners
DARC (Digital Arts Resource Centre, formerly SAW Video) has played a crucial role in supporting our events.
Digital Arts Resource Centre is a not-for-profit, artist-run media art centre that fosters the growth and development of artists through access to equipment, training, mentorship, and programming.
Happiness Habits 613 has been an invaluable ally. It is a grassroots group promoting joy and wellness in the Ottawa community—a mission that strongly aligns with our own. They host local events to help people cultivate healthy habits using nine pillars of happiness: altruism, connection, gratitude, movement, mindfulness, minimalism, nature, nutrition, and purpose.
